The UndergraduateExperience

Four Years of Incredible Memories

Four years of incredible memories. A home away from home. A second family. A fresh start. Personal connections that will drive you further, mold you into a professional, and send you out into the world with the skills and confidence you need to do well. As an undergraduate student at Wesley, that’s only the beginning of what you’ll experience.

Study What You Love

Within Wesley’s curriculum, you’ll find everything you need for a well-rounded education, plus whatever it is you want to study…taken to the next level. Our nursing students, for example, do clinicals their very first year. Our exercise science program churns out physical therapists and cardiopulmonary specialists. And our political science students start interning early, for big names, right down the street. Pick your dream job, and we’ll help you build up your resume for it.

What Field Are You Interested In?

Life @ Wesley

If you think your next four years should consist of a lot of ‘you’ time, you’re right. College is about studying hard, but it’s also about having fun with your friends, often and safely. From hanging out in the Den or ziplining across campus, to sweating it out in open gym or at the beach, Wesley students love their downtime.

What Do Wesley Students Love About Wesley?

  • The Undergraduate Research Opportunities

For some students, that doesn’t mean much now—but it’s something you’ll find to be very cool at Wesley. Our students start research projects as early as freshman year, which means they’re out and about exploring a topic they’re passionate about, finding solutions to everyday problems, creating apps for farmers, working on a database on cancer drugs…you get the idea. And we celebrate that research every year with Scholars Day, an annual tradition that builds students’ confidence and presentation skills—and makes them realize they really own their education here.

  • The Opportunities in General

From organizing a new club to having their voices heard in conferences across the nation, Wesley students open new doors every day. This is a place where you can be a leader, or whoever it is you’re meant to be. On your tour, ask us more about these opportunities. Our students have a lot of incredible stories to tell; just listen.

  • The Faculty and Staff

Here’s the thing about Wesley. It’s nearly impossible to not do well. Professors here care so deeply about the personal and professional development of their students, that they’ll go out of their way, beyond office hours, to keep pushing you further. Because of that, students here really grow. They really accomplish things, and they find out who they are.

  • The Students

No matter what your background is or who you were in high school, you’ll find that everyone who attends Wesley is accepting of diversity, welcoming to new faces, and eager to create a college family of their own. That’s why it’s so common for students to stick around campus even on the weekends.

I’ve had a lot of really good opportunities here. I designed a textbook for a professor. I’ve been able to do sports photography since my freshman year. I was yearbook editor. I designed a website for the radio station. I was a media lab assistant, and I’ve been an academic coach and an RA.

Did you know? During their senior year, students can start taking select graduate courses—so they can earn a master’s more quickly and for less tuition.

How Would My First Year at Wesley Begin?

Two words: SOAR and WOW

SOAR (Summer Orientation and Academic Registration) is a one-day program where you’ll learn about campus living, tips for succeeding academically, and how to access your fall schedule.

WOW (Windows on Wesley) is when the fun begins. A four-day program that takes place in August right before classes begin, WOW involves a series of events and activities designed to help you get to know Wesley. Want to learn more? Contact our Office of Student Affairs by calling 302.736.2506.

The best thing you can do to find out if Wesley is right for you is to come visit. We can set you up to take a tour with a Student Ambassador, chat with an Admissions Counselor, meet a professor, and even sit in on one of our small classes.
